What the Downtown Line means for a Dairy Farm Walk household — Hillview and Hume stations, the direct stops, and how the interchanges connect.
Two stations, one line
Hillview station (DT3) opened with Downtown Line Stage 2 and serves the Hillview and Dairy Farm area. Hume station (DT4) opened in February 2025, one stop further along the same line, giving the area a second access point.
For a household in the Dairy Farm enclave, having two stations on the same line matters mainly for walking distance: which is closer depends on where in the enclave you live.
Direct stops that matter
From Hillview the Downtown Line runs to Botanic Gardens (DT9), where it meets the Circle Line and the Thomson-East Coast Line; Newton (DT11) for the North-South Line; Bugis (DT14) for the East-West Line; and on to Promenade, Bayfront and the Marina Bay area.
That means the Orchard belt, the civic district and the bay are all reachable with at most one change, and several are direct.
The Rail Corridor and Hillview Connect
Hillview Connect opened in April 2025 as a 250 m link and the first road built beneath the Rail Corridor. It improved both vehicular and pedestrian movement between Hillview Avenue, Upper Bukit Timah Road and Dairy Farm Road, and the pedestrian overhead bridge along Upper Bukit Timah Road was extended to connect directly to the corridor.
Driving from Dairy Farm Walk
The Bukit Timah Expressway is the main artery, linking south toward the Pan Island Expressway and north toward Woodlands and the Causeway. Upper Bukit Timah Road runs parallel and serves the local stretch.
Buses and local links
A bus stop after Chestnut Drive sits approximately 290 m from the Dairy Farm Walk development site, with services connecting to Bukit Panjang town centre and the Hillview belt.
